Professional portrait of Narion Tuft-Williams.
Technical instructor, manufacturing leader, and cybersecurity graduate student.

About me

Discipline, leadership, and a growing security practice.

I have experience as a technical instructor and a manufacturing leader, during which I have supervised staff, trained apprentices, supported the achievement of production targets, and kept strict standards in both the areas of quality and safety. The knowledge I have gained through my work in machining has enabled me to deal with problems in a systematic way, to check that the results are correct, to clearly communicate what is expected and to understand how a small error can impact the whole operation. These practices directly contribute to my ability in the field of cybersecurity, where accuracy, thorough documentation, awareness of risk, and making timely decisions are essential.

In CYSE 600 I have broadened my understanding of information security through my work with network traffic, packet capture, authentication, authorization, encryption, certificates and other basic security concepts. The course has enabled me to go beyond simply memorising definitions and has allowed me to apply technical procedures in real laboratory environments. Furthermore, my experience in troubleshooting configuration problems has improved my patience and my ability to identify the source of issues rather than merely guessing at the solutions.

My long-term aim is to work in the field of public service, take part in federal law enforcement, and engage in security-related activities. I hope to achieve this by combining experience in leadership with a strong technical background and knowledge of cybersecurity in order to help protect people, information, and vital operations. I also intend to keep developing my practical security skills by means of further graduate study, professional training, and gaining hands on experience.
