Portfolio guide
Questions about this work
A quick guide to navigating the portfolio, adding course artifacts, applying APA citations, and protecting sensitive information.
01How should I navigate this portfolio?
Use the main navigation to open the About and FAQ pages or jump directly to Core Knowledge, Project Showcase, Learning Reflections, and References on the home page. Each section is also linked from the numbered section rail below the home-page introduction.
02What belongs in the artifact placeholders?
Each placeholder is reserved for an original screenshot from an authorized CYSE 600 lab. Recommended artifacts include a successful packet capture, authentication or permissions configuration, and a certificate or encryption task. Add a concise figure caption and meaningful alternative text to every artifact.
03How are sources cited?
Academic and technical sources appear in APA format in the References section. Brief in-text citations should accompany borrowed ideas: NIST (2007) for monitoring and intrusion detection, NIST (2008) for testing and assessment, and Sharpe et al. (2026) for Wireshark procedures. Any added graphic, icon, quotation, or outside image should also be cited.
04How does the site support accessibility?
The site uses semantic headings, descriptive links, keyboard-visible focus states, strong color contrast, responsive layouts, and alternative text for the professional portrait. Lab screenshots should include alt text that explains what is visible and why it matters. Do not place essential information only inside an image.
05What privacy checks apply to lab screenshots?
Use only screenshots from systems and networks where you have authorization. Before publishing, remove or obscure real IP addresses, usernames, account numbers, passwords, private keys, hostnames, and other protected information. Keep original capture files secure and share them only with appropriate personnel.
